Scott Sedillo
At age five I was shown how placing a penny on the tonearm of my select-o-matic could improve the playback of my "Chipmunk Christmas" record. From that point on I was hooked on music and audio equipment. Record collecting, school band, and stage crew became staple hobbies. After high school came service in the Naval Nuclear Power Program followed by college, which eventually lead me to the USC School of Music. At USC I was exposed to experienced recording instructors like Beno May and Fred Vogler.
After student life I was asked to stay on at USC as a lecturer. I also began to build the clientele for my independent engineering business. Specializing in classical and acoustic music eventually lead to regular recording situations for organizations like the Los Angeles Opera. As business grew I began developing specialized recording equipment. Custom designed gear better served specific needs of my operation as well as outperforming available commercial equipment. In 2002 I was invited to join Bernie Grundman Mastering's staff and happily did so.
